ZF-C-125 is an eco-friendly, non-toxic, and flame-retardant charring agent. This product is suitable for use in polymer systems such as thermoplastic or cross-linked polyolefins and elastomers. Flame-retardant polymer materials formulated with ZF-C-125 exhibit excellent mechanical and processing properties, effectively enhancing the overall performance of the final product—particularly in terms of char formation and smoke suppression. The recommended addition level for this product is 1–5%.

ZF-C-125 is an eco-friendly, non-toxic sepiolite charring agent that leverages the fibrous crystal morphology of naturally occurring hydrated magnesium silicate to enhance char formation and smoke suppression in halogen-free flame-retardant polymer systems.

Supplied as a light-coloured powder with a median particle size (d50) of 10 μm and 325-mesh residue of ≤0.5%, ZF-C-125 integrates cleanly into compounding processes without introducing dust explosion risks or health hazards. The recommended addition level of just 1–5% makes ZF-C-125 a highly cost-efficient charring agent — meaningful improvements in char yield and smoke suppression are achievable at dosages that do not compromise the mechanical or processing properties of the base compound.

The elongated microfibre structure creates a three-dimensional network within the polymer matrix that promotes the formation of a mechanically robust, cohesive char skeleton during combustion. This network effect maintains char integrity under forced convection conditions, sustaining the flame-retardant barrier throughout fire exposure.

Compatible with thermoplastic and crosslinked polyolefins and elastomers. Surface treatment grades are available to optimise hydrophobicity, dispersibility, elongation, and processing flowability for specific formulation requirements.
