ZF-C-520 is a multi-functional eco-friendly sepiolite charring agent offering combined flame-retardant charring performance, mechanical reinforcement, and rheological modification in halogen-free polymer compounds.

Supplied as a light-coloured powder with a median particle size (d50) of 10 μm and 325-mesh residue of ≤0.5%, ZF-C-520 is formulated to accommodate a range of charring and flame-retardant requirements across different polymer systems. The fibrous, needle-like crystal structure of sepiolite creates a three-dimensional network in the polymer matrix that promotes formation of a mechanically stable char skeleton during combustion, while also providing reinforcing and thixotropic effects in the processed compound.

Compatible with thermoplastic and crosslinked polyolefins and elastomers, ZF-C-520 maintains good mechanical properties and processing performance in the finished compound while meeting charring performance targets. The high surface area and silanol groups on the fibre surface enable effective interaction with polymer chains and co-additives in the formulation.

Multiple surface treatment grades (A, B, F, J, N, S, X) are available to tailor hydrophobicity, elongation at break, and processing flowability to the specific demands of the end application.
