ZF-101 is an ultra-fine, high-purity aluminium hydroxide (ATH) offering the proven combination of flame retardancy, smoke suppression, and white filler functionality in a single additive system.

With an aluminium hydroxide content of ≥99%, a median particle size (d50) of 1.5 μm, and Hunter whiteness of ≥97, ZF-101 provides excellent dispersion stability in resin and elastomer matrices. Low iron content (Fe³⁺ ≤ 0.01%) supports applications where colour stability and electrical properties are critical. ATH decomposes endothermically at 180–200 °C, releasing bound water that absorbs heat and dilutes combustible gases — a temperature range ideal for thermoset resins, coatings, and rubber systems.

The fine particle size enhances surface area contact with the polymer matrix, improving flame-retardant efficiency at a given loading and allowing formulators to achieve target fire performance with reduced filler levels compared to coarser grades.

Surface treatment services are available: A/B grades improve hydrophobicity, mechanical strength, and dispersibility for general plastics and rubber filling; F grade is optimised for volume resistivity and hydrophobicity in high-end wire and cable and electronic insulation applications.
